BIO
Jimmy Hortle is a Junior Research Fellow at IMAS Taroona working within the Fisheries and Aquaculture research centre on salmon farming interactions with the environment. He has a particular interest in soft sediment communities and their use in environmental monitoring of salmon farms.
Biography
Jimmy completed his bachelor of marine science at UTAS in 2014 before joining the Salmon Interactions team to complete his honours. His research under Dr. Jeff Ross gained an understanding of the distribution of Dorvilleid polychaetes around salmon farms in Macquarie Harbour. Following on from this work, he joined the team on a full-time basis in 2016.
