BIO
I am a geophysicist specialising in Antarctic research. My background is in geology and geomorphology, previously working in the Arctic and Europe. I also have a professional background and education in art and engineering.
The Antarctic continent, surpassing Australia in size, remains largely unexplored due to its extensive ice cover and challenging accessibility. Understanding Antarctica's geology and lithospheric structure is compounded by the uncertain effects of ongoing global warming that vary across different regions.
My research is focused on merging data from geology, geophysics, and statistical computer models. By integrating diverse disciplines, I aim to comprehensively understand the continent's structure, particularly within the ice-covered interior. Through models, we can illuminate the intricate interactions between the massive ice sheet and the underlying subglacial geology and better prepare for the Antarctic response to global warming and rising sea levels.
In addition to my work on Antarctica, I study geothermal heat, explore innovative applications of geophysics and instrumentation and learn from the history of polar science.
Please feel free to connect with me to discuss potential collaborations. I am here to share knowledge and contribute to the community.
