BIO

Dr Lachlan Tegart (he/him) graduated a PhD Menzies Institute for Medical Research at the University of Tasmania in August 2024. His thesis focussed on investigating the molecular basis of pollen allergy triggers in Hobart.  

 

As a multi-disciplinary scientist, Dr Tegart harnesses a variety of molecular biological techniques, especially eDNA metabarcoding, to assess biodiversity in a wide variety of samples, ranging from air to dust and soil. He has applied these techniques to probe the world of pollen allergy, housedust microbiome and personal exposure.

 

Dr Tegart currently works as a Reserach Outputs Officer in Research Performance and Analysis in the Research Division at UTAS.
